Genetic Engineering Is a Good Idea
People have been engaging in selective breeding with the intent of producing superior kids for a very long time emphasis on intent because they did know all about breeding for traits and routinely did it with animals also intent matters more than effectiveness. We probably need to take for granted that as genetic engineering becomes available it is going to happen. I think we'll skim over the concept of designer babies and the challenges ethical and technical involved in favor of giving that its own episode down the road.
