Julian Zelizer: The Saudis made this deal to protect themselves from the possible ramifications of military action against Iran. He says it does run counter to another kind of regional initiative or competing initiative, on which is to try and cement a counter Iranian bloc within the region. But we also know very clearly that the Israelis are extremely concerned about what's happening in Iran on the nuclear front., he adds.
