Amiodarone isn't considered enough as it maybe should be. Fusion of magnesium even if the magnesium is normal in RCTs looks about as effective as amiodarone as a first choice. Patients with diastolic heart failure or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or valve disease, mitral valve stenosis, atrial stenosis. Those are patients who might need to slow the rate quicker or more feedingly.
