I practiced all of the things that I said we shouldn't do as a young manager. It was getting me to a place where I wanted to be before I turned 30, which was as a state manager. When I was bad mark, I learnt just as much as when I was good mark. The realization happened over about 15 to 20 years. There wasn't a moment in time where it was like, I need to be more human.
