The Art of Preaching
A preacher's art is to bring Christ down while people are trying to climb their ladder. The directions of a sinner and Christ inevitably collide, the true preaching artist is the one that prevails over the traveling center for the sake of Christ. This makes the art violent at first before it gives life eternal. No one really knows how to do it. Not by nature. I have taught preaching long enough to know it cannot be done. Nevertheless our Lord Christ tells us His word will never disappear.
