"There is all something that we had to do in order to join the gang, and it was kind of inflicting serious harm to pretty much any individual," he says. "If you do it to some one random, or you couldn't do it, you wouldn't be able to be part of the gang." He adds: "They probably were looking for me to take the fall if something ever went really bad"
Not everyone has the luxury of escaping their own childhood trauma, domestic violence, and being able to get out of a gang.
