Depression and Sickness Behaviors

Sickness behaviors resemble what we feel like when we're depressed. These sickness behaviors are due to a different kind of signal in the body and the brain. So there's increasing evidence that maybe cytokines might be mediating some aspects of depression as well. And interestingly, guess what? They also are signaling within the HPA axis.
