Almost all of which were researcher design measures to assess whether students display the skill they had just learned. Such immediate measures that are very close to precisely what was taught are well known to show much larger effect sizes than multiply determined outcomes such as grades or test scores. Hatty wouldn't have been running these he actually uses these to produce a giant meta analysis which is statistically thought but anyway that kind of thing when you're just looking at the immediate results of what you've just tried to teach is something where you're going to get much better results.
