The Importance of Social Welfare Programs
I wanted to make the point that you covered all of these issues in your book. You talked about the value of social welfare programs and their importance. And so I picked up on that point, again from Copelman, in his own book. Because again, for Copelman to say, "I was bypassing this book" is not true. The labor markets offer your ticket out of poverty. That's how my grandparents climbed out of Poverty. It's not like we feel that we want to replace Welfare Programs with top-down tax hikes or spending cuts. We want to transform American economy into something more functioning rather than less functioning.
