Is There a Scottish Connection?

James Connolly of the Easter Rising fame and the Irish labor movement was born in Edinburgh. I think a lot of the intellectual energy of 19th century Britain came from Scotland. You know, their culture derived its power from Scottish ambition because the Scots were like the supposedly Celtic minority that had converted in the Reformation.
