Virtue ethics would not say that you are a good person if you always intend to do well but you're just bad at it. utilitarianism has some very tough pills to swallow though when we talk about good and bad like that. If you build gates and you just have a billion dollars and you can give that all the charity that makes you a good person then Aristotle would say yeah also it sucks to be you.
