The Barriers to Routine Foot Care
Routine foot care is something that's normally not considered by Medicare, unless the client has a systemic condition such as metabolic issue. Even when you look at the dotted line in here in the really fine line, it says conditions that might justify coverage. So even if a person goes into a podiatry setting and they want to get routine foot care done, and they have diabetes, or they have peripheral vascular disease that does not necessarily mean that their insurance is going to cover it, or that they'll be reimbursed. The need is so much greater than maybe what they are receiving.
