What in the Hell Is a Continental Congress?
In early 17 76, what we now know as the united states still had its ties with britain. Richard henry lee from virginia apparently asked the continental congress in philadelphia to consider declaring independence greatbritain. The document would let it known officially that the united states didn't need britain and to become its own country. Once the document was adopted on july fourth 17 76, it would be shared across the land with hopes that folks would follow what was written and stand by it.
