If i were making say a profit of five percent on my german solar farm i would need to make a profit of fourteen percent in south africa for those projects to be comparable. The thing is that when we look back in time the actual risk so how much did the currency fall wasn't nine percent it was like four percent and people are uninvesting heavily because they feel their risks are there which they don't fully understand. In the long run an investment may make a return in the long run but in the intervening period it could be quite volatile, he says.
