The Vortex Approach to Emergency Medicine
Both approaches addressed difficult airways and failed intubations in very different ways. The vortex approach doesn't focus on intubation, which is not the gold standard for a paramedic practice. It has some nice elements such as at every stage of failure, you move the surgical airway kit closer to the patient. And I think simple interventions like that will overcome some of the cognitive load that comes along with these failed airways.
