Introduction

The nonprofit home tree wants to bring back a temperate rainforest ecosystem that has been gone for centuries. A group of surfers want to buy 800 hectares of land across eight sites in western Ireland to reforest over the next four years. The hope is that bringing native trees back to parts of this landscape will inspire a much wider reforestation.
