The way that proteins work in our body is that they're in a constant state of turnover. They're being broken down into their component amino acid pieces again, and then rebuilt into new proteins. Proteins that you eat in your diet actually fuel the rebuilding of these proteins. Well, the one thing in your body that you can spare that's a protein is your muscle. And that's why you have to eat more protein and eat more amino acids.
