There are court records in new york city civil court of american jews voluntarily changing their names. A lot of these people weren't even imigrants. They were the children of emigrants. I mean, a generation after ellis island closed. And i think that story, people still cling to it because it gives them something that they can feel more comfortable with. Now you do see any kind of evidence of anti semetism in American life, life, it always comes as a surprise.
