How Does It Feel to Take Down the Whole Phone System in Chicago?
There was a situation in 1988 or 89, I can't remember. The first Cubs night game was going to go on sale. And we agree it'll be phones only to tickets a person. So I take my kids out for ice cream. When I come back phone rings. Guys on the phone. Hi, this is somebody from station one IQ. How does it feel to take down the whole phone system in Chicago? Well, there's no 911 with 35 million attempts in the first two minutes and it blew up the phone system. You know, you got to get smarter about this stuff,. But it feeds into the emotion instead of the logic.
