Peter Spiegel: If the New York case ends up falling apart, I think a lot of people would just shrug and say, next. This is in the case of Georgia, an attempt to overthrow a rightful election. Those are way more consequential cases than I paid off a mistress. Derek Brouwer: OPEC Plus announced that they're cutting oil production. He says it shows that the US-Saudi relationship is fraying or frayed. The idea that Saudi Arabia would be trying hard to raise oil prices would be pretty annoying to Western governments who have been trying to drive them down.

Former President Donald Trump will turn himself in to New York prosecutors on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia and other members of the Opec+ group announced surprise production cuts of more than 1mn barrels a day, and China’s President is urging an increasingly assertive stance on the world stage and this year urged cadres at a key meeting in Beijing to “dare to fight.”
