Queer Community and Family Support
The queer community has thought about how we connect and support those generations in ways that straight or sis communities have not. Older people who have the queer ommunity lost a lot of their families because they came out in an era where that was in no way axcepted. Younger, queer people are looking towards elders to say, how can we create a family support system outside of our biological families? That hit me really hard. It's almost like i was saying earlier, about knowing i want friends of all generations, but then when it comes right down to it, i'm like, but how?
