Arthur's stone is one of the biggest capstones in Britain. The people who built this, 3,800 BC, well 38th century BC, so we're talking nearly 6,000 years ago. C.S. Lewis was probably inspired by this because that 25 ton stone is split down the middle. We think he was around here at one stage. And find a line of posts, wooden postholes, which were later, much later, replaced with stones. So it's the first time we found a long barrow like this,. a long can, linked to a stone avenue out the front.
