The First Amendment and Social Media
Spencer Cox signed two bills that require parental consent before kids can sign up for platforms like TikTok and Instagram. They give parents access to their children's accounts, it will prohibit kids under 18 or more from using social media between 1030 p.m. and 630 a.m. unless a parent or guardian modifies the default setting. Already, a handful of states are considering similar bills, though they may be difficult to enforce and the courts may have a say on this.
