The Netherlands' Subsidence and Climate Change
Land in the Netherlands is sinking over 2 centimeters a year due to climate change. Many buildings there are very old and do not have good foundations. The Dutch could continue to build dikes and pump water, but this method will go up as sea levels rise. So they are doing something different: They are letting some water in by repurposing public places.
