How to Write for Movies in the Late 1940s and Early 1950s

Mckendrick's Rules were written in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He was talking about how to write for short films, which are unforgiving media. In ancient Greece, plays were live affairs; they weren't read, they were performed. Each play was only ever performed once at a religious festival.
