Most scientists are wrong in their you know they're just spitballing ideas testing hypothesis most of them turn out to be incorrect and you never hear about them because they don't publish them. journals want articles that replicate a study that's boring we already know that's true right so but that's really important because if you can't replicate it or you said well I couldn't replicate it not interested right? So there was this famous experiment by Daryl Ben who's a highly respected social psychologist who did this test on kind of backward causality and the subjects were able to anticipate which side of the screen that emotionally evocative image would come up on before the computer even decided which side it would come
