The sound of a waterfall was actually echoing off the walls of this mountain and was basically playing a trick on them. The acoustics made it like it was really close, but really it wasn't. And so by the time they finally did locate this waterfall, they knew they had ventured fairly far off the main trail,. They really needed to hustle to meet their group and catch that last car out.
