Judge Jackson was unanimously confirmed by the senate to her lower court seat nine years ago. Her confirmation to the appeals court last year was 53, forty four vote. Three republicans joined all 50 members of the democratic caucus last june. The chair of the republican national committee issued a statement calling judge jackson "a radical left wing activist"
