The Dissolution of Self in Meditation

Thomas Metzinger developed a theory of how our brains construct a model of self, which is intimately tied to a model of physical space. He wanted to see if he could get participants to project their sense of self into avatars that were offset from their location by just a few apparent feet. In meditation there's still an elementary sense of selfhood that we call this body sitting in front of us. If the thinker of thoughts can go more than one way and dissolve his/herself, then I think it's pretty easy to say 'I have no self' Sam: What is the most simple form of self?
