What's the Low Hanging Fruit of the First Amendment?
Most content falls in this category of lawful but awful, material that is somewhat hateful. And if we want platforms to do this thing that it's outside government power to force them to do because of fundamental rights, then we're necessarily handing over this huge body of decisions to private platform. I actually think that the most promising solutions do not come from top down government regulation of content,. It comes from competition or privacy approaches that can reduce the power that any given platforms, news feed or algarithms, have in the first place.
