I could feel that he was trying to create at least one other human who understood what he went through. Maybe the like unconscious drive is still fundamentally that they're trying to connect but it's so twisted and so warped. The only way that that urge can feel a connection is to create that trauma in some other human. Yeah, Schwartz writes about this as well. I don't know if he writes about this in no bad parts, but he worked in with violent sex offenders and found the same thing where it was basically a protector part that wanted to use the same type of energy that hurt the exile to get back the power that they lost.
