The Origins of the Latin Alphabet
The Greeks created Oopsalon in the 800s BC. And then about 100 years later, they start colonizing what's now Italy. The Atruskins copy the Greek letters for their language. Then that from there gets copied by Romans for Latin. That turned Oopsalon into the letter U.
