I think everybody has their own coping mechanisms. It's a coping strategy to sort of escape what you went through. I know another play I did that was about the Bosnian War. And when it was over, I used to just sit in my dressing room with the light off and eat from this giant can of cheese balls. Of course they do. You cannot go through life as a closed person, closed off to other experiences,. lacking empathy, and then get on stage and expect it all to open up. "It doesn't work that way"
