Nietzsche's Oper Is the Artistic Soul of the Modern Romantic Culture
The classical and the romantic view of life or however you want to call them both those movements as being in Nietzsche's view both essentially optimistic. He sees opera as sort of the soul of the artistic soul of this modern uh optimistic culture but he designates it as non-aesthetic because remember Socrates is an anti-artistic soul. The russellian romantic return to a primitive state of peace and happiness, says Nietzsche.
