Gramsci's Organic Intellectuals of the Capitalist Class
An organic intellectual in Gramsci sense is not a roots intellectual, it's someone who organizes. One could actually see the organizer intellectual as a synonym. He does suggest often that the organizing intellectuals of the working class are people who come out of working class communities and working class families. His organizers of the capitalist class are not people who were born into the capitalist class.
