The History of the Moon's Colouration

Researchers have gone back and taken examples of texts from around the period 1100 to 1300. They've got texts from monks and sort of ancient scholars and all over the world as well. These people have got descriptions of the moon's colouration and how dark it was during the eclipse. And they can use that to estimate, okay, how much of this volcanic haze these particles would have been present and where? The data basically match the dates that they found with the data from things like ice cores and tree rings.
