The Effect of Novelty on Strength
I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a group that's relatively underloaded from a maximal Torx standpoint still improve post testing just because of some novelty effect. If you're adding an extra two sets and still achieving the same relative internal intensity as you define it, whether that's RPE or reps to failure, well, then you got stronger. That part wouldn't surprise me if I saw it. Especially individuals that maybe in a higher attach realization where they have had shoulder pain for quite a while.
