The Dangers of a High Interest Rate Period

We're beginning to see at least a flattening in construction cost if not a decline. The fact that commodities are weakening in terms of price is very, very helpful. And for the record, our house view has been to expect a mild recession. I think we still should expect those interest rates to suppress economic activity,. both consumer spending and investment for at least the next six to 12 months.
