Book Review - Names Are Very Funny
Josh: Names are really funny. And if you can use them as the writer to sort of establish either a power structure or a feeling, they convey something instantly. I should say as well that this book needed to be laced with a lot of fictionality. To some extent, i wanted that to be there so that i could signal to the reader that i'm playing around with certain ideas of autobiography and the fictionality of everyday life. It's called jake barnes. But also, one of charle's previous wives is named charley. Where did these people come from? You know, some of them are based on real people.
