Is There a Fading Effect Bias?
I look back on some of the things that I thought were kind of close to destruction back in the day, and it's now almost got a humorous quality to it because you've come out on the other side. Tragedy plus time equals comedy is true. Imagine if you didn't have the fading effect bias and you just accumulated this ever-increasing intensity of negative experiences throughout your life. Every caveman would have been a nihilist, right? No one would have ever got anything done because they would have been bowed under the weight of their brother that died 55 years ago or something. And the same doesn't happen, which really should give us reason to discount how bad bad things feel
