I think virtual worlds have been around for many years. But the problem with being in a virtual world is that eventually you say, well, what are we going to do now? You can only sit around and chitchat and look at other people's avatars for so long before you say, "What are we up to now?" And it's the same thing if you're socializing, IRL, you also usually need something - like racquetball or lunch.
