The Problem of Lack of Drivers in Railways

Privatisation was installed nearly 20 years ago to try and save money. But private companies didn't even own the trains they were running, still don't. They found it easier to steal drivers from other companies than to do training of drivers themselves. This is why drivers pay went up quite significantly. Without properly investing in what would be an uneconomically, wouldn't make sense economically to invest in the training of drivers.
