Enclosure of the Commons in the 18th Century

In the 18th century, it experiments a substantial change in scale and scope with a new or more systematic form of enclosure. At that time, political economists, agrarian improvers, land surveyors, began to see parliamentary enclosure as a national effort to mobilize rural land and rural labor. These would, of course, entail the dispossession or the separation from the commons of these large assets of the rural poor which would then depend on wages to survive.
