Jesus Must Increase, I Must Decrease

In verse 27, John answered and said, a man can receive nothing except to be given him from heaven. He that cometh from above is above all. Now isn't that a symbol of what all of us as teachers and parents need to do? We're going to love them and we're going to teach with enthusiasm. Once we've won their heart over, we now need to step out of the way and allow Jesus to step in the way. That phrase, he must increase, but I must decrease, describes the role of parents and teachers.
