We've got a $21.6 trillion debt, and the interest alone on that debt is $540 billion. We haven't paid down the principal since Eisenhower was in the White House. The Social Security Trust Fund actually doesn't belong to the retirees. It's just part of the government's general fund and maybe the government will pay it to you.
