The Lone Ranger is a fictional renegade loman who roamed the American West trying to help people fight bad guys and enact justice. There are many who believe their inspiration for the character was actually a man named Bass Reeves, who was not only black, he was a former slave. We're going to look at how as a black man in the 1800s he became a deputy marshal in the first place.
