The History of the End
Ideas about the end were already present 1500 years BCE in Persia and the Middle East. These ideas would have a significant shaping influence on Judaism and eventually on Christianity, which was also deeply shaped by Judaism. They become quite important in Western Europe during the Crusades. And I think they remain ideas about the end, although not necessarily religious always, down to the present day.
