Is There Evidence of Hominins?
The notion that there have been other non-sapien hominins living alongside us until very, very recently. I don't expect science to recognize on the basis of that evidence alone. There's no precedent for that for recognizing a new species on that basis alone. The Hobbit is only 50,000 years old; we've got remains of homo erectus in some of the islands of Southeast Asia as young as 25 to 75,000 years ago. If you stepped into a time machine and went back just 20 to 30,000 years for sure, you could possibly bump into any one of a half a dozen different upright bipedal hominins.
