Anthropologist described beliefs as our criteria for claiming status. When we have sacred beliefs, they become our criteria for claimed status. So it's very hard to get people to relinquish those beliefs because status is really important to people. And from that explanation, does it also sort of explain, in a way, the toxicity of public at the moment?

Does owning a big house and supporting ‘correct’ social causes not just make you feel good about yourself but actually make you healthier and live longer? The answer is yes.
