The Beginner's Guide to Alchemy

Sara durn is a new editorial fellow at atlas obscura. She's also written a book all about alchemy. In its most simple form, alchemy is the art of transformation. Early philosophers and experimenters were practising it in ancient greece. And by the time europe was starting to edge towards the age of enlightenment, lots of major thinkers were really into alchemy.
